MUMBAI: Amitabh Bachchan and Rekha have been the most talked pair in Bollywood because of their secret, smouldering romance which never reached its climax because the Big B was married to Jaya Bachchan.
These two strangers came together in the 1976 film Do Anjaane, and things got really hot between them.
The two went on to work together in as many as 18 films, including Kasme Vaade, Muqaddar Ka Sikandar, Ram Balram, Khoon Pasina, Imaan Dharam, Ganga Ki Saugand, Mr Natwarlal, Chashme Buddoor and Alaap.
Amitabh and Rekha were last seen together in the 1981 film Silsila – the Yash Chopra romance which invited real life comparisons for the leading pair.
After Silsila, Bollywood’s hottest pair became Do Anjaane again and they have never been seen together.
Till the two were caught together in this shot taken on a flight to Chennai where the two were going to join in celebrations of 100 years of Indian cinema earlier this year. Amitabh is seen posing with the pilot and Rekha is in the back seat, trying to look out.
