1: Amrita Singh, who was born on Feb 9, 1958, is the daughter Jat Sikh father Shavinder Singh and socialite Muslim mother Rukhsana Sultana. Her parents met during their college days. They later divorced and Amrita was raised by her mom.
2: Amrita’s mother, a divorcee, became notorious for her closeness to the late Sanjay Gandhi during the Emergency in India (1975-77).
3: Amrita Singh is the niece of the late renowned writer Khushwant Singh.
4: Amrita trained to be a belly dancer before she entered Bollywood with the hit film Betaab opposite Sunny Deol in 1983.
5: Amrita Singh met Saif Ali Khan on the sets of Bekhudi by Rahul Rawail and fell madly in love him even though she was 12 years older than him.
6: Saif’s parents Sharmila Tagore and Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi were opposed to their relationship, but the two secretly married in October 1991.

Sara reportedly wants to become another Alia Bhatt by working only with Bollywood top actors even though her father has said he would have preferred his daughter to pick up another career in New York where she studied. “I am still a little concerned for her as it’s an unsure profession. I love her so I worry for her,’’ Saif has said about his daughter.
