Bollywood love marriages that end in divorce include those of Aamir Khan and Anurag Kashyap who did it twice

BOLLYWOOD: Aamir Khan has joined the rare list of Indian film stars who have been married and divorced twice.
The Lagaan actor and his wife Kiran Rao announed in early July that they are separating after 15 years of marriage.
Film director Anurag Kashyap, actor Kamaal Haasan and the late actor-playback singer Kishore Kumar are the other Indian celebrities who divorced twice.
Let us dive in and have a look at the Bollywood love marriages that ended in divorce:
1: Aamir Khan and Reena Dutta. Aamir Khan and Kiran Rao
Aamir Khan fell in love with his neighbour Reena Dutta. The two married in 1986 before Aamir Khan made his mark in Hindi cinema with his 1988 release Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak. In fact, Reena played a small role in Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak. The couple divorced in 2002. Reena got custody of their two children – son Junaid and daughter Ira. In 2005, Aamir married Kiran Rao who was assistant to Lagaan director Ashutosh Gowariker. The two called it quits in July 2021.
2: Anurag Kashyap and Aarti Bajaj. Anurag Kashyap and Kalki Koechlin
Filmmaker Anurag Kashyap fell twice in love and married and divorced twice. He fell in love first with Aarti Bajaj. They married in 1997 and divorced in 2009. Then he fell in love with Kalki Koechlin on the sets of his film Dev D and married her in 2011. They separated in 2014 and finalized their divorce in 2015.
3: Hrithik Roshan and Suzanne Khan
It was a fairytale romance. The couple married in 2001 and ended their 13-year marriage in December 2013. They were formally divorced in Nov 2014. They agreed on joint custody of their sons Hrehaan and Hridhaan.
4: Chitrangada Singh and Jyoti Randhawa
Like Hrithik and Suzanne, actress Chitrangada Singh and golfer Jyoti Randhawa married in 2001. There were rumours of Chitrangada’s link-up with actor John Abraham and director Sudhir Mishra. The couple called it quits in 2013 and finalized their divorce in 2014. They have a son Zorawar Randhawa. Meerut-born Chitrangada has endorsed many brands, including Puma, Garnier, Taj Mahal Tea and Airtel.
5: Sanjay Dutt and Rhea Pillai
Sanjay Dutt married model Rhea Pillai in 1998. But the couple divorced in 2005. This was the second marriage for Sanjay who was previously married to Richa Sharma from 1987 to 1996 when Richa died of brain tumour. Sanjay has daughter (Trishala born in 1988) with Richa. Trishala lives in the US. Sanjay married Mayata in 2008 and their twins – Shahraan and Iqra – were born in 2010.
6: Pooja Bhatt and Manish Makhija
The voluptuous Pooja Bhatt fell madly in love with Channel V’s veejay Manish Makhija who became famous for his The Udham Singh Show. The couple married in 2003 and decided to split in December 2014.
7: Manisha Koirala and Samrat Dahal
The gorgeous Manisha Koirala met Nepalese businessman Samrat Dahal on facebook and fell for him. The two married in 2010. But their marriage was over within two years.
8: Kamal Haasan and Vani Ganapathy. Kamal Haasan and Sarika
Kamal Haasan fell in love with Tamil classical dancer Vani Ganapathy in 1978. They remained happily married for 10 years when Sarika entered the scene. Kamal Haasan started a live-in relationship with Sarika even as he was married to Vani.
Kamal Haasan and Sarika married in 1988 after the birth of their first daughter Shruti in 1986. But Kamal’s affair with much youngre actress Simran Bagga led to the break-up of his marriage with Sarika. The two divorced in 2004.
9: Karan Singh Grover and Jennifer Winget
Punjabi munda Karan Singh Grover married Jennifer Winget, his co-star in Dill Mill Gayye, in 2012. They separated in 2014.
10: Kishore Kumar and Yogeeta Bali
Playback singer-actor Kishore Kumar married four times. His first marriage to Ruma Ghosh lasted from 1950 to 1958. His second wife was the legendary actress Madhubala whom he married in 1960. She died in 1968. His third marriage with actress Yogeeta Bali lasted just two years from 1976 to 1978.
