MUMBAI: As the controversy over beef ban rages in India, a former friend has dragged the family of Bollywood megastar Amitabh Bachchan into it.
Amar Singh, a politician without any base who was expelled from the Samajwadi Party, says Amitabh’s wife Jaya Bachchan also eats beef.
Jaya Bachchan is a former Rajya Sabha MP of the Samajwadi Party and Amar Singh thinks he was instrumental in getting her that position. When he was kicked out of the Samajwadi Party by Mualayam Singh, Jaya Bachchan didn’t follow him in quitting the party. So Amar Singh has a score to settle with the Bachchan family. That’s why he has made the accusation that Jaya Bachchan too eats beef.
Visiting the Vidhyanchal temple in Varanasi with his protege and actress Jayaprada and film producer Boney Kapoor, Amar Singh said, “I and Jaya were part of an Indian delegation that went to Glasgow. During that visit, Jaya ate both beef and pork. I had an argument with her on it and she said there should be freedom eat any food one likes.”
But at this time, this double-speaking politician said that what someone eats or wears should not be the topic for discussion.
