MUMBAI: In September at an event when reporters called her Ash, hubby Abhishek Bachchan was not pleased. He told the reporters to call his wife Aishwarya, not Ash.
Point taken.
But this Thursday when Aishwarya accompanied her mother-in-law Jaya Bhaduri to a party by Subhash Ghai at an Andheri pub, some photographers called out: `Aishwarya, Aishwarya, please pose for us.’
That was about 10.30 PM.
But Aishwarya’s protective mother-in-law got angry. Turning around, Jaya Bhaduri shouted at the photographers, “Kya Aishwarya Aishwarya bula rahe ho, tumhare class mein padhti thi kya? (Why are you calling her Aishwarya? Was she your classmate?)’’
Poor photographers. They had no answer to Jaya’s outburst.
If they call her Ash, her husband Abhishek gets angry. If they call her Aishwarya, her mother-in-law Jaya Bhaduri gets angry.
So how should the media address the Bachchan bahu?

To be fair to Jaya, I think she’s really annoyed with the possibly persistent name calling. We’ve seen how media treats celebrities; I don’t think its a big deal at all!
Heck I have called Julia Roberts – julia- and most recently another of my faves- sandra bullock – sandra. anyways no need to expand on my views on the bachchans – great actors- amitabh bhai and jaya but people wise – a lot to desire in my short encounters with them
Aziz Premji and Ratan Tata are better.
who does Jaya think she is anyways? all these filmi folks have a stupid class complex.Notable the Bachchans! yerappai!
