MUMBAI: Some clerics in Pakistani have reportedly issued a fatwa against Indian model Arshi Khan for claiming that she had sex with Pakistani cricketer Shahid Afridi.
After a series of tweets in September about Shahid Afridi, Arshi had claimed, “Yes, I had sex with Afridi! Do I need the Indian media’s permission to sleep with someone? It’s my personal life. For me it was love.’’
The tweets from Arshi, whose mother is Indian and father a Pakistani-Afghan, had come after a website reported that she had spent a night with Afridi in a luxury hotel in Dubai.
Arshi, whose family is based in Bhopal, initially tweeted that she was just friends with Afridi and that the two had met socially a few times.
But then she tweeted that she won’t mind posing nude with Afridi.
Escalating her tweet war further, Arshi finally tweeted that she actually had sex with Afridi.
Just a few days she again tweeted to say she would inviting Afridi to Mumbai.
And now she claims that some Pakistani mullahs have issued a fatwa against her for trying to defame Pakistan and Shahid Afridi. She says she won’t be cowed down by the threats as she is the daughter of a Pathan.
