MUMBAI: Huma Qureshi is gorgeous Delhi babe who came to Bollywood from theatre and modeling.
In fact, it was Anurag Kashyap who gave her break in Bollywood in his films Gangs of Wasseypur I and II.
So it is not unusual for this full-bodied beauty to get linked up romantically with fellow male celebrities in tinsel town.
Here is a look at Huma Qureshi’s love affairs.
1: Huma and Sohail Khan: This is the latest rumoured love affair of this buxom beauty that has rattles Salman Khan’s family and threatened Sohail Khan’s marriage to Seema Sachdev Khan. There were reports some time ago that Seema has moved out to live separately from Sohail.
It all began with pictures of Sohail Khan outside Huma’s house.
Calling reports about his alleged affair just `rumours’, Sohail has said, “I have read a few ridiculous things about me, which made me want to take people head on. If you are maligning someone, have the courage to name yourself. Do your homework about my whereabouts and me. If there is enough proof about my supposed affair, I will keep shut. Don’t write like know-it-alls without validating the claim.”
Sohail has said that most of the time, “actors are fighting ghosts, clueless about the source of stories about our personal lives. I don’t feel bad for myself, but I do feel bad for my wife and kids. Gossip makes for spicy read but people should realise that we too have parents at home; we have kids who go to school and are asked about their parents’ marriage. Can you imagine the impact on their psyche? All I am asking is, write with substantive evidence.”
Denying anything between her and Sohail, Huma has said, “What really hurts is that without knowing the truth about my life, they (media) go ahead and put these stories. And I’ll tell you why they do it; they do it because they want to take away all the attention from my hard work. They want to show that whatever I have achieved in my life is because of my closeness to a particular man, who may be coming from an influential family or is influential himself. That is disrespectful.’’
But Huma ji, there is no smoke without fire !
2: Huma Qureshi and Anurag Kahsyap: Huma Qureshi became fodder for Bollywood gossip mills after she got break in Bollywood in Anurag Kashyap’s films Gangs of Wasseypur. She was linked to Anurag and later blamed for the break-down on his marriage to Kalki Koechlin.
The rumours were further fuelled when Huma and Anurag were photographed hugging each other at the screening of American Hustle in Mumbai in early 2014.
Anurag tried to protect Huma after their picture hugging each other was splashed, saying,“People run only one-sided story and it’s very disturbing. Such rumours are not affecting me or Kalki but it is affecting Huma’s image. Huma is being targeted.”
Anurag said, “When we (Huma and Anurag) went for the screening (of American Hustle), photographers wanted to click us together. I said you guys will click our picture purposely and will run your own story and that’s exactly what has happened.’’
Anyways, Anurag’s marriage with Kalki ended even though Kalki never blamed Huma for it.
3: Huma Qureshi and Arjan Bajwa: Huma was linked to fellow Delhiite actor in Bollywood Arjan Bajwa in 2012 when the two were seen `bonding’ over a cup of coffee at a Mumbai restaurant.
Some reports said the two were dating.
But the reports only remained rumours.
4: Huma Qureshi and Shahid Kapoor: After Arjan Bajwa, Huma Qureshi was linked with loverboy Shahid Kapoor. In fact, there were reports in 2013 of the two holidaying together in Goa.
But Shahid denied the link-up with Huma, saying that he had met her only a couple of times.
“I have no clue where these stories crop from. I’ve met Huma only twice. Singledom has its own challenges. Every girl you meet is taken to be a potential relationship,’’ Shahid had said then.
5: Huma Qureshi and Abhishek Chaubey : Huma was also linked to Dedh Ishqiya director Abhishek Chaubhey who was alreadyy married
Gossip mills said that Huma was dating Chaubey who was staying separately from his wife Supriti Malhotra and that the two will soon have nikkah ceremony to put stamp on their marriage. But no nikkah ever happened.
