Pakistan’s famous stage actress and dancer Sitara Baig says she was raped at a five star hotel in Lahore last week by a group of seven men.
According to The Express Tribune, Sitara had gone to the hotel to collect her fee from her alleged rapists for her performances in Dubai and Canada.
“The rapists asked me to come to the hotel so they could pay my fee for performances I did in Dubai and Canada. When I went there, they gave me the amount in full and also offered me a glass of juice, which I accepted. After the drink, I lost consciousness and woke up around 10 hours later,’’ the actress has bean quoted as saying by the newspaper.
“I woke up undressed, with no clothes or jewellery, and the money had also disappeared. I was in shock.”
She said the rapists made a video of her and warned that they will post it on social media if she reported the matter to police.
The actress said since the culprits are influential police refused to register a case against them.
She has approached Punjab chief minister Shahbaz Sharif for action against the alleged rapists.
