BOLLYWOOD: Punjabi superstar Diljit Dosanjh, who has carved out a name for himself as the first turbaned actor in Bollywood, has not taken kindly to a fan taunting him for not spending any time in his home state Punjab these days.
The fan tweeted, “Hun punjab nhi nzr anda jithe janam hoya bai jaan” (You’re not seen anymore in Punjab your birthplace).
Diljit responded by saying, “Punjab Blood Ch aa Veere.. Lakhan Lok Kam Lai Punjab Ton Bahar Jande Ne..Eda Matlab eh nhi ke Punjab Sadey Andron Nikal Geya.. Punjab Di Mitti da Baneya Sareer Punjab Kivey Shadh Dau” (Punjab is in my blood. I am like those so many people who leave Punjab for work. But that doesn’t mean that I have forgotten my roots. Since I am made up of Punjabi soil, how can I forget Punjab?)
Diljit Dosanjh, who is busy promoting his album Moonchild Era, is the son of a bus driver who worked with Punjab Roadways.
