Miss Bum Bum title goes to Brazil model Dai Macedo

NEW YORK: Dai Macedo, the 25-year-old Brazilian model with her 42-inch bottom, was adjudged Miss Bum Bum in the annual best bottom contest in Brazil on Thursday.

Into it third year, the Miss Bum Bum contest has become very popular in Brazil.

An administration student, Dai Macedo won the Miss Bum Bum title and $21,00 (5,000 reais) in cash, though she is going to make many times more through advertising endorsements now.

“I didn’t expect to win,’’ said Ms Macedo after winning the title.

She added, “All hell broke loose on social media sites but now I can say the contest was real.’’

But Ms Macedo revealed that her butt is not all natural. “It isn’t 100 per cent natural. I had a butt lift. I always had a large backside but liposuction improved it,’’ the 25-year-old model said.

The contestants represented each of the 27 states and federally administered  territories of Brazil.

The list was then pruned to 15 through online voting. A panel of six women and five men finally chose the winner out of the 15 finalists

This year’s contest has been dogged by controversies, with allegations that some participants paid thousands of dollars to organizers to win favours.

In fact, the second placed Eliana Amaral, 24, who comes from Pernambuco state in north Brazil, was accused by a newspaper of paying almost $29,000 to the organizers to win the second position in the Miss Bum Bum contest.
