MUMBAI: By now every Salman fan knows he doesn’t like liplocks on screen. He has never kissed on screen , never will, no matter what the temptation.
What’s more , Salman won’t allow his protégées to kiss either,
At a public event to promote Hero he said, “There was never kiss in Hero. Nikhil(the director) didn’t want it. Sooraj didn’t want it. Aathiya didn’t want it. I didn’t want it.”
Wondering whether the superstar was imposing his own stubborn morality on the newcomers I asked Soorajif he was indeed opposed to kissing on screen, and he confirmed there were other ways to project togetherness and intimacy between a couple.
Earlier Salman’s primary female protégée Sonakshi Sinha too propagated a similar morality regarding a simple kiss on screen. She will never kiss on screen, she says.
Coincidentally in his kiss-mat ka khel Salman is one with his rival-colleague-friend-bete noire Shah Rukhwho doesn’t do celluloid smooches as a rule, though he did break the rule once with Salman’s ex-gilrfriend Katrina Kaif in Yash Chopra’s farewell film Jab Tak Hai Jaan.
Salman on the other, is unlikely to break his no-kiss clause, no matter what the temptation.
The other Khan superstar, Aamir, has no inhibitions about kissing. In fact he holds the record for not only kissing the maximum number of heroines on screen, but also of the longest screen kiss ever with Karisma Kapoor in Dharmesh Darshan’s Raja Hindustani.
