2 Calgary Punjabi men arrested for drug trafficking

TORONTO: Two Punjabi men Harmanjit Brar, 21, and Mohit Sandhu, 19, have charged with drug trafficking by Calgary Police

The two Punjabi men have been arrested along with Yonis Ali, 27, after a a three-month long investigation by police to track a drug trafficking operation in Calgary. 

The three men were arrested by police from two residences in the city.

During the raids, police also seized two vehicles, about 400 grams of cocaine valued at $40,000, two loaded handguns and cash. 

Investigators have laid 23 charges against the three men.

Harmanjit Brar has been charged with two counts of possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking and one count of possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000. 

Mohit Sandhu has been slapped with 10 charges, including possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking, carless storage of a firearm, possession of a firearm with a defaced serial number and breaching a release order.

Yonis Ali faces nine charges, including possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking, carless storage of a firearm, possessing a restricted firearm with a prohibited magazine, possessing ammunition and possession of a firearm contrary to a prohibition order.
