BRAMPTON: Indo-Canadian man Jaspaul Uppal, 21, the third attacker in the vicious assault on an autistic man at the Square One bus stop in Mississauga on March 13 this year, surrendered to police in Abbotsford in British Columbia.
Peel Police had issued Canada-wide warrant for his arrest on May 16.
Peel Police sent two officers to bring him from Vancouver. Handcuffed, Uppal was brought to Toronto on an Air Canada flight on Wednesday and taken to 12 Division of Peel Regional Police which looks after law and order in the cities of Mississauga, Brampton and Caledon.
In an unprovoked attack shown on the video below, the 29-year-old victim was punched by three men on the stairs inside the bus stand.
While Parmvir Singh Chahil, 21, was arrested from Windsor on March 23, Ronjot Singh Dhami, 25, surrendered to police on March 26.
Chahil was released on $25,000 bail, but Dhami is still in jail.
All the three accused are from British Columbia. While Dhami is from Surrey, Chahil and Uppal are from Abbotsford.
The attack on the autistic man, who was left with a broken nose and multiple injuries, had led to public outrage, with the Ontario Premier and mayors calling for strict against the culprits.
