A 73-year-old man from the Montreal area has been charged with sexual assaults that he allegedly committed in the Greater Toronto Area in early 1970s.
Peel Police arrested Alonzo Levesque of L’lle-Bizzard in Montreal on June 10 and charged him with four counts of sexual assault.
The old man’s sexual crimes came to light in May this year when a male victim, who is 56 years old now, contacted Peel Police and reported multiple sexual assaults.
The accused was working as a referee with a Toronto hockey league when he came to know the male victim who was in his early teens at that time. The accused carried out his alleged sexual assaults between 1970 and 1973 at a residence in the GTA.
Apart from his job as a referee, the accused also worked as a superintendent of various apartment buildings in Toronto and in the City of Brampton at that time.
Peel Police investigators suspect there may be more victims of his crimes.
