NEW DELHI: Famous Punjabi singer Hans Raj Hans, who first joined the Akali Dal and then the Congress, has now joined the BJP.
He calls it `ghar wapasi’ because “the BJP and the SAD are one.” But actually he is going “ghar, ghar” to fulfill his political ambition without any political skills or record to back it.
A Valmiki, Hans joined the BJP in the presence of party president Amit Shah in New Delhi.
So why he joined the BJP?
Because “I have always been impressed with PM Modi’s humility. He is like a ‘faqir’, who has left his home for the betterment of humanity. I had gone to Gujarat when it was hit by a quake and helped him collect about Rs 15 crore for rehabilitation. When he visited Punjab as Gujarat CM, he had showered praises on me. We have an old association owing to which he asked his party leadership to make me join today,” says Hans Raj Hans.
And why he has left the Congress?
Because “I did not enjoy being in the Congress. I still have very high and warm regards for Capt Amarinder Singh, but no comments for the rest of the partymen. It is my ‘ghar wapsi’. The BJP and the SAD are one.”
No, Mr Hans, it is a case of sour grapes. Capt Aminder promised you to get elected to the Rajya Sabha ignoring long-time party leaders in Punjab. But it didn’t happen because Dalit leaders in the Punjab Congress put their foot down against your becoming a Rajya Sabha MP.
And the world also knows why you joined the Akali Dal and why you lost in the 2009 elections.
It is not `ghar wapasi’ for Hans Raj Hans. He is going ghar-ghar-ghar.
