TORONTO: Police have arrested Jaspal Bhatti, 22, and Sujan Balasubramaniam, 19, when illegal drugs and a rifle were found in their vehicle during a traffic stop search in Scarborough on Thursday.
The two man were stopped by the Toronto Police Organized Crime Enforcement Drug Squad near the Highway 401 and McCowan Avenue area.
During the search of their vehicle, police found cocaine, marijuana, psilocybin mushrooms and a 7.62 calibre semi-automatic rifle with three magazines and ammunition.
Each man faces 20 charges, including trafficking cocaine, possession of cocaine, marijuana and psilocybin for the purpose of trafficking, possession of proceeds of crime, and unauthorized possession of a firearm.
Jaspal Bhatti and Balasubramaniam, both from Toronto, appeared in court at Old City Hall.
