Four Mississauga fire stations report 11 cases of Covid-19

Mississauga Fire and Emergency Services says additional 36 staff are also self-isolating

MISSISSAUGA: There is Covid-19 outbreak at the Mississauga Fire and Emergency Services (MFES).

As many as 11 positive cases of COVID-19 have been reported. Another 36 staff are self-isolating.The outbreak has impacted four fire stations.

Over 630 firefighters serve 21 stations in the city.

Acting fire chief Nancy Macdonald-Duncan says, “we are able to adjust our crews and ensure public safety is never compromised. We remain ready to respond and provide fire safety across Mississauga.”

The city says all its fire stations are currently not open to the public. Firefighters respond to calls in full personal protective equipment.
