RCMP GTA searchesunder Project Ovenus lead to seizure of drugs, firearms and over $160,000 in cash as sex persons arrested

MISSISSAUGA: The RCMP has seized drugs, firearms and over $160,000 in cash in searches in and around the GTA.
Six persons have arrested and charged in connection with these seizures.
An RCMP release on Thursday said its members of its Toronto Airport Detachment conducted search warrants at a residence in Etobicoke and a business in Mississauga on September 23 and arrested two persons from Toronto.
During the search, over $160,000 in cash, cocaine, other controlled substances as well as one restricted firearm and ammunition were seized from the business located in Mississauga.
On September 24, the RCMP and York Regional Police conducted a search warrant at a residence in King City, Ontario, as part of the same investigation.
Investigators found thirty long guns, 20,300 rounds of ammunition, cocaine, other controlled substances and over $15,000 in cash in the residence. Four King City residents were arrested.
These searches were conducted under Project Ovenus, supported by Peel Police, Toronto Police, York Regional Police, Ontario Provincial Police and the Canada Border Services Agency.
The arrested six persons face over 140 charges under the Criminal Code and Controlled Drugs and Substance Act.
