NEW YORK: Over 100 Hollywood female stars have their phones hacked and their nude photos and selfies stolen and posted online.
The hacking happened due to an iCloud leak.
The actresses whose photos have been stolen include Jennifer Lawrence, Kate Upton, Nickelodeon star Victoria Justice, actress Kirsten Dunst and singer Ariana Grande.
The photos have been posted on 4chan forum.
The hacker claimed to have over 60 nude selfies as as well as explicit videos of Jennifer Lawrence. The hacker’s list posted onlien says that the stars whose nude photos have been stolen include Kim Kardashian, Rihanna, Selena Gomez , Hillary Duff, Vanessa Hudgens, Mary Kate Olsen, Hayden Panettiere, Kaley Cuoco, Lea Michele, and others.
A representative of Jennifer Lawrence confirmed that the actress’ photos are real and they were stolen from her iCloud account.
“This is a flagrant violation of privacy. The authorities have been contacted and will prosecute anyone who posts the stolen photos of Jennifer Lawrence,’’ the representative was quoted as saying by Huffington Post.
Kate Upton’s attorney also confirmed that the posted nude pictures were stolen from Kate’s phone.
“This is obviously an outrageous violation of our client Kate Upton’s privacy. We intend to pursue anyone disseminating or duplicating these illegally obtained images to the fullest extent possible,’’ attorney Lawrence Shire told Us Weekly.
But Victoria Justice said her photos were fake, tweeting, “These so called nudes of me are FAKE people.’’
