MUMBAI: If Mika Singh were to confine himself to Punjab, people will call `fukra’ because of the way he sings and he won’t survive on the music scene.
But thanks to Bollywood where there is little understanding of real Punjabi music, many mediocre singers like Mika have thrived.
Even as he has progressed, Mika has also gone on to create one controversy after another. His latest target is actress Diana Penty.
At a musical promotional event for Diana’s next film ‘Happy Bhag Jayegi’ recently, Mika Singh said, “Diana Panty, Mika Kachha.’’ The word kachha is for underwear in Punjabi.
As if this was not enough to embarrass Diana, this foot-in-the-mouth singer added, “ “Diana is very beautiful. We all love you. I would have given her my ring if it was not expensive.”
The whole cast of the film and producer Krishika Lulla and director Mudassar Azia were at the event.
Mika drew giggles from the media and other attendees, but Diana Pnety was reportedly furious. We wonder why she didn’t walk out of the event.
