BOLLYWOOD: With Bollywood actress Kangana Rant triggering a controversy with her remarks that India got freedom only in 2014 when Narendra Modi took over as the prime minister.
The actress said what India got in 1947 was just ‘alms’.
Responding to her reamrks, Bollywood music composer Vishal Dadlani reminded her of Shahid-e-azam Bhagat Singh’s sacrifice.
Posting his selfie with a picture of Bhagat Singh on his t-shirt on Instagram, Dadlani said, “Remind the lady who said our Independence was ‘bheekh’. The man on my t-shirt is Shaheed Sardar Bhagat Singh, atheist, poet, philosopher, Freedom Fighter, son of India, and son of a Farmer. He gave his life for our freedom, for India’s Independence at age 23, and went to the gallows with a smile and a song on his lips.”
