2 Brampton men arrested for assaulting woman, stealing her car

BRAMPTON: Two Brampton men have been arrested for assaulting a woman and stealing her car.

The carjacking took place at about 5 pm on November 12 when the woman went to a fast food restaurant in the area of Brayden Boulevard and Airport Road in Brampton. 

After leaving the restaurant as she was entering her vehicle, two suspects approached her. 

As the woman struggled with the two suspects, some people intervened and removed the victim’s young child from the back seat  of the vehicle. At that time, the suspects stole her vehicle and fled.

The victim was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Her child suffered no injuries.

Police located and arrested the two suspects with the stolen vehicle near Derry Road East and Rexwood Road in Mississauga. 

They have been identified as Hamza Sajid, 18, and Mehkash Sohal, 19, both of Brampton.

Both have been charged with robbery, assault, breach of probation and recognizance and possession of a controlled substance.
