That was my reaction, straight from the movie Mary Poppins, when I sat dining at Niagara Falls Skylon Tower, looking out the glass window from the catbird’s seat, at the most astoundingly stunning view of Niagara Falls on the Canadian and US side at the same time!
Yes folks, if you are looking for a fun evening out this summer, then for the same price as a ‘summerlicious’ dinner at many posh restaurants in Toronto, why not check out Niagara Falls’ Skylon Tower?
Besides an extremely delicious prix-fixe repast, you get the added attraction of enjoying the world’s most famous revolving restaurant overlooking the grandeur of one of the wonders of the world; and you get a double whammy as this Niagara Falls restaurant slowly turns around and you get an extraordinarily breathtaking view of the beauty and magnificence of both the US and Canadian waterfalls. Make sure you notice how the river remarkably bifurcates into the US and Canadian waterfalls.

They also have an adequate menu of libations as well as non-alcoholic beverages served in their signature Skylon Tower glasses that you can take-away as mementos. The staff is very professional and friendly. There is a children’s menu as well.
It is literally the height of casual fine dining as the restaurant is 775 ft above Niagara Falls!
Before you go up to the Skylon Tower restaurant, you may wish to revive the kid in you and partake of the many video and other games in the lobby. After that you must go check out the maestro of glass-blowing, Angelo Rossi, who hails from Venice, Italy which is famous for its Murano glassware. Angelo is actually born on the island of Burano, just a few kilometres off Venice, well renowned for its hand embroidered Venetian lace.
To watch him blow glass into all shapes and colours from dragons to kangaroos is indeed a treat. He is accredited with being the first person to do glassware in cranberry colour. He is also one of the few glass blowers left who can actually look at a picture or photo and make a ditto glass copy. If you buy a piece, he will even autograph it for you. Well known figures like Elton John, James Cameron and Jane Fonda have commissioned him to do glass figures for them.
After the dinner at the stunning Niagara Falls Skylon Tower, make sure you use the courtesy ride to the observatory deck to check out the marvellous view of Niagara Falls from up there through the binoculars provided or you can take your own. The ‘view of the falls’ from up there, should also be termed a marvel of the world, not just the falls themselves. If you have the facility to take a panorama shot from your smart phone, then this is the spot. It is the shot of a lifetime.
After that you can descend unto the sidewalk by the falls and enjoy the lights dancing on the falls and if you are lucky enough they might even have a fireworks show, which is usually available on certain days in the summer.
Believe me, your heart will fill with so much pleasure that you will dance with the lights.
