BRAMPTON: Three Brampton Indo-Canadian men have been arrested for for breaking into various religious places in Brampton and Mississauga and stealing cash from donation boxes.
Jagdish Pandher, 39, Parminder Gill, 42, and Gursharnjeet Dhindsa, 31, face a total of 78 charges for stealing money from religious places belonging to different faiths.
According to Peel Police, the three men committed these thefts between November 2021 and March 2022, by breaking into religious buildings and removing cash from donation boxes.
After investigations, police arrested the three Punjabi men on Thursday and charged them with various counts.
All three – Jagdish Pandher, Gursharnjeet Dhindsa and Parminder Gill –have been charged with 13 break-ins and stealing cash from the religious places.
They appeared at the Ontario Court of Justice in Brampton for a bail hearing.
Police are searching for a known fourth suspect and are asking him to speak with officers.
Though there is no indication that these crimes are hate-motivated, police said all possible motives will be considered as this investigation progresses.
