After Tesla chief Elon Musk deleting Facebook accounts of his companies and WhatsApp co-founder Brian Acton calling for boycott of the social network, Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak has now joined them in deleting his facebook account.

Wozniak, who co-founded Apple with Steve Jobs, says Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg cares only about privacy but he doesn’t give a damn about the privacy of Facebook users.

Wozniak told AP that Mark Zuckerberg is buying all the houses around his residence and all the lots around his in Hawaii in order to ensure his privacy. But the same Zuckerberg is making money by using privacy of Facebook users.

“Users provide every detail of their life to Facebook and… Facebook makes a lot of advertising money off this. The profits are all based on the user’s info, but the users get none of the profits back,’’ the Apple co-founder also told USA Today.

Wozniak said he would prefer to pay to use Facebook rather than allowing it to use his private information for advertising purposes.

Comparing Facebook to Apple in matters of privacy of users, he said, “Apple makes its money off of good products, not off of you.”

But “with Facebook, you are the product,” he added.

Facebook is embroiled a big crisis over privacy concerns after it came to light that British data mining firm Cambridge Analytica with links to Donald Trump’s presidential campaign used personal data of 87 million Facebook users to influence elections.
