Didi Krishna is currently the leader of the Sadhu Vaswani Mission headquartered in Pune, India, having taken over from Dada Jashan Vaswani who passed away in 2018 just before his 100th birthday.
The mission was originally founded by Thanwardas Lilaram Vaswani. He was a prolific educationist, mystic saint, persuasive animal rights activist and an inspiring author of many books
Didi is currently on her yatra through the West covering the US, Canada, the UK, Spain and as well spreading her wisdom in St. Maarten (an island in the Caribbean belonging to the Netherlands and France) and St. Thomas (US virgin islands in the Caribbean).
She was in Toronto over the weekend recently at the Sindhi Gurmandir (temple) in the Greater Toronto Area (GTA).
The function at the Gurmandir started off with bhajans, followed by a children’s programme with Didi Krishna in presence. Mississauga-Streetsville MP Rechie Valdez welcomed Didi to Toronto who in return gifted her spiritual and motivational books from the Vaswani Mission.
After these initial proceedings, Didi started recounting stories of T.L. Vaswani and how he was invited to Berlin in Germany to represent India at the World Congress of Religions way back in 1910. A video of his successor Dada Jashan was also screened.
Didi Krishna went on press home the point that we can shape our own future through spiritual and motivational thoughts and deeds.
She also laboured on the fact that we can make our choices. Many made the choice to come to hear her discourse and many others decided not to. Similarly we are faced with important decisions to make and that shapes our destinies. We must learn to make the right choice. Never say you have no choices. We can live in heaven right here and now if we so choose.
One must realize one’s worth.
There is nothing one cannot achieve.
Don’t live a life of dependency.
Stand for yourself.
These are key points she made as she involved the attendees in an interactive session asking questions of the children and adults alike.
She went on to tell the crowd that they must “learn self control and not allow situations and circumstances to control them. A true king or queen is one who rules the mind.”
There were many more insightful and mind opening topics she covered, engrossing the crowd.
The glorious spiritually lifting evening ended with a celebration of Didi’s birthday with a huge chocolate almond cake.
Of course the customary langar followed.
Everybody went home enlightened.
