TORONTO: Durham Police have charged six teenagers with human trafficking of a 16-year-old girl to use her for sexual services.
The case came to light in February when Durham police arrested two teens for forcing a 16-year-old girl to go with them to a hotel in Whitby to provide sexual services to a client.
In the hotel, the girl was allegedly sexually assaulted.
The victim reported the matter to police. And police arrested a 16-year-old girl from Pickering and laid 10 charges against her. A 16-year-old boy from Toronto was also arrested and slapped with two charges. These two arrests took place in February.
Now police have arrested four more teenagers for their role in this crime.
All four are all 17-year-olds. Three of them are girls from Pickering and one boy from Toronto. In all, they face 18 charges. The charges include advertising another personâs sexual services and committing child pornography offences.
After their arrest on Thursday, April 5, the four were released with the promise to appear to court.
