Vaughan wedding Covid spread: 44 cases linked to the event

VAUGHAN: A large wedding in Vaughan earlier this month has led to 44 cases of Covid-19.
About 100 people attended wedding-related ceremonies at the Avani Event Centre in the area of Jane Street and Langstaff Road on October 14 and October 18.
The first case came to light October 28.
In a statement, York Region Public Health confirmed 44 cases in different areas linked to the wedding events. Here is the break-up of the cases:
York Region Public Health: 5 cases
Peel Region Public Health: 31 cases
Wellington Dufferin Guelph Health Unit: 2 cases
Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit: 1 case
Halton Region Public Health: 3 cases
Region of Waterloo Health Unit: 1 case
Toronto Public Health: 1 case
All those who attended the wedding are being advised to self-isolate for 14 days until November 2.
York Region came under modified stage 2 restrictions on October 19, limiting private events and social gatherings to 10 people or less indoors and 25 people or less outdoor.
For religious services, rites or ceremonies, the indoor limit is 30 percent capacity or less of any given room in the building. In any setting, physical distancing must be maintained for individuals outside of your immediate household.
