MISSISSAUGA: Three women are dead in two separate incidents of domestic violence in Brampton and Mississauga
The two incidents happened just hours apart on Friday and early Saturday.
Police were called to a house in Starhill Crescent, north of Dixie Road and Sandalwood Parkway, in Brampton at about 10.45 pm on Friday.
When the cops reached there, they found four people inside. Among them, two women, aged 60 and 32, were found with stab wounds. They were later pronounced dead.
Police arrested a 29-year-old man – who happens to be the husband of the younger woman – and charged him with two counts of second-degree murder. The fourth person in the house was a child who was unhurt.
The second incident happened early Saturday morning at about 1 am when cops reached a house in Marmac Crescent, south of Winston Churchill Boulevard and Burnhamthorpe Road West, in Mississauga in response to a stabbing incident.
A woman was found in distress. She was later pronounced dead. One of the two minor children suffered minor injuries. The two children were taken to hospital. A 61-year-old, who was injured in an interaction with police, was arrested.
The Special Investigations Unit is investigating the circumstances surrounding injuries sustained by the 61-year-old man.
A SIU press release said, “Soon after arriving at the residence, there was an interaction between police officers and the man. The man was taken into custody and subsequently transported to hospital where he was diagnosed with a serious injury.”
