3 Brampton Punjabi men arrested for sex trafficking

BRAMPTON: Three Brampton Indo-Canadian men have been arrested for trafficking an 18-years-old girl in sex trade.

While Amritpal Singh, 23, Harkuwar Singh, 22, and Sukhmanpreet Singh, 23, have been arrested, hunt is on for the fourth accused.

Peel Regional Police says its officers began an investigation on August 21 into allegations that a woman under 18-years-old was being held against her will, violently assaulted numerous times and was being trafficked in sex trade.

Police got the victim transported to a local hospital with serious, non-life threatening injuries.

On the same day, police raided a house in the area of Bovaird Drive West and Creditview Road in Brampton and arrested the three men.

Amritpal Singh and Harkuwar Singh have been charged with:

– forcibly confinement

– keeping a person under 18 years

– using person under 18 in trafficking

– receiving benefit from trafficking in persons</p>

– Getting material benefit from sexual services provided by persons under 18 years

– Advertising sexual services

– Aggravated assault

Sukhmanpreet Singh has been charged with:

– Forcible confinement

– Aggravated assault

Police say they are looking for the fourth suspect whose identity remains unknown at this time. He is described as South Asian, 6 feet, 200 lbs, short dark hair with a black beard.

Police believe there may be more victims of human trafficking victims by the suspects.
