BRAMPTON: Constable Gurpreet Chohan of Peel Police has been arrested and charged with various counts of assault after complaints by two victims who were previously in relationships with him.
In December last year, two unrelated victims – who were previously in relationship with Constable Gurpreet Chohan – approached Peel Regional Police with several criminal allegations against him.
The criminal allegations against him related to events that occurred from 2018 to 2021 in the cities of Cambridge, Brampton and Toronto.
On December 28, Constable Chohan was arrested and charged with three counts of assault.
He was arrested again today (January 7, 2022) and charged with assault, assault with a weapon and mischief under $5000.
Constable Chohan will appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Brampton on March 7.
Upon completion of the criminal court proceedings, he will face investigations under the Police Services Act.
