7 Indo-Canadian men arrested for Mississauga kidnapping

MISSISSAUGA: Seven Indo-Canadian men have been arrested and charged with kidnapping and assault.

Those arrested are:

Gurvinder Dhillon, 34, from Brampton

Maninderjit Dhindsa, 42, from Brampton

Harpal Dhillon, 36, from Brampton

Lakhvir Singh, 23, from Mississauga 

Jaspuneet Bajwa, 29, from Mississauga

Kalib Rahi, 34, from Brampton

Ramanpreet Singh, 22, of no fixed address

All the seven men are accused of kidnapping a man at about 4 pm on April 10 from Mississauga.

The victim was located 14 hours later in the area of Airport Road and Morning Star Drive with severe but non-life-threatening injuries. He was transported to a local hospital.

Police arrested the seven Punjabi men and charged them with kidnapping and assault with a weapon to cause bodily harm.

The motive behind the kidnapping is not known.
