COVID alert after Red Rose Convention Centre, Candles Banquet Hall events

BRAMPTON: Health authorities in Peel Region have warned that people who attended two wedding events at two separate locations in Mississauga must get themselves tested immediate for COVID-19, regardless of vaccination status.

In a press release, Peel Public Health said guests who attended the event at Red Rose Convention Centre at 1233 Derry Road East on October 8 between 6 pm and 11 pm should get tested, regardless of vaccination status. 

Similarly, those who attended the event at Candles Banquet Hall at 1224 Dundas St. East in Mississauga on October 9 between 6.30 pm. and 11.30 pm must also get tested, regardless of vaccination status. 

Those who are not fully vaccinated must self-isolate until they receive a negative test result.

Failure to comply with self-isolation can result in fines under the Section 22 Class Order.

Those seeking testing because of exposure at either location should give testers the following outbreak number: 2253-2021-48743.

Fully vaccinated individuals attending either event, who do not have any symptoms, do not need to isolate; however, they should continue to follow precautions such as masking, physical distancing and limiting contacts while waiting for test results.
