BRAMPTON: Ravinder Sidhu, 33, who was wanted in a 2014 sexual assault case in Brampton, has finally been arrested.

A Canada-wide arrest had been issued against Sidhu.

The Indo-Canadian man was arrested this week on October 22 in Calgary and Peel Police brought him here to face charges sexual assault.

The said incident happened on August 13, 2014, when at about 8 pm, Sidhu sexually assaulted a woman in her vehicle in a plaza in the area of Chinguacousy Road and Queen Street West in Brampton. 

The victim was with her two young children in the car when she was sexually assaulted by Sidhu.

Luckily, the woman suffered no physical injuries. Sidhu fled from the scene after committing the sexual assault.

He was identified in August 2020 following a DNA analysis.

Following his identification, a Canada-wide arrest warrant was issued against Sidhu as police began hunt for him. 

Finally, the police located him in Calgary on October 22 and flew him to Brampton to face charges sexual assault.

He appeared the Ontario Court of Justice on October 27 for a bail hearing.
