BRAMPTON: Peel Police have arrested the third suspect in connection with the murder of the wife of the Brampton Hindu Sabha Temple priest.
Sangita Sharma, 56, was shot dead at her residence on Treeline Boulevard in Brampton on August 13, 2020. She was the wife of Brampton Hindu Sabha Temple priest Abhay Sharma.
After lengthy investigations, police first arrested and charged Fiseha Girmay Habtegabir, a 19-year-old man from London, on June 4.
The second suspect. Malik Essue, 23, also from London, Ontario, was spotted in Fort McMurray, Alberta, on June 23 and arrested with the assistance of the local RCMP. Peel Police brought Malik Essue to Brampton and charged him with first degree murder.
The murder of Sangita Sharma had sent shock waves in the Indo-Canadian community in the GTA.
Many suspect her killing was a hit-man’s job. Before her murder, Sangita ran a pharmacy in Brampton.
