TORONTO: Rasiah ‘Vimal’ Vimalakanthan, a 61-year-old Toronto turor, has been arrested for sexually assaulting a girl student.
According to Toronto Police, the sexual assault took place on November 20 when a 16-year-old girl attended a one-on-one, residential tutoring service in the area of Morningside Raod and Sheppard Avenue East.
Police said the the man, who provides tutoring in math, physics, calculus, science and data management, sexually assaulted the girl.
Rasiah ‘Vimal’ Vimalakanthan was arrested on November 26 by members of Sex Crimes – Child & Youth Advocacy Centre.
He has been charged with sexual assault and is scheduled to appear in court at Toronto East, 1911 Eglinton Avenue East, on January 12.
