MISSISSAUGA: Peel Police have arrested an Indo-Canadian man from Mississauga for sexually assaulting a York University student three months ago.
Ravnit Kahlon, 21, was arrested on December 13 and charged with sexual assaulting the York University woman student on a Toronto city bus on September 29.
The arrest has come three months after Peel Police released pictures of the suspect on Tuesday, December 12.
According to police, the woman student boarded the bus in the area of Keele Street in Toronto at about 8.30pm on September 29. As she took a seat next to Kahlon, he started making sexual advances towards her.
Police said Kahlon sexually assaulted the woman student twice while on the bus. After the second sexual assault, the victim relocated to the front of the bus and requested the driver to contact police.
Before the cops could come and arrest Kahlon, he got out of the bus at Queen Street and Kennedy Road in Brampton and started walking east on Queen Street.
Kahlon was being held for a bail hearing.
Peel Police said the public helped them identify the suspect from the photos.
