Toronto-based Surjit Babra-led SkyLink Travel Group has donated $10,000 to Sabre’s Passport to Freedom, the company’s initiative to engage the travel industry to end human trafficking.

SkyLink founder and chief executive officer Surjit Babra (right) presented a check to Jamie McNair, Sabre’s vice-president and general manager Canada & Western U.S. division this week.

“Human trafficking is a horrific, global problem that needs to be addressed by everyone,” Babra said.

“I admire the effort Sabre has undertaken to bring attention to this issue and engage the travel industry to help. I’m proud to help this important cause.”

Babra has been recognized by the travel industry for his extensive charity work in Canada and across the globe. Sabre officials said the funds donated by Babra will help fund a scholarship program the travel technology company is establishing for survivors of human trafficking. (Courtesy Travel Press)
