TORONTO: Despite ban on direct international flights from COVID hot spots such as India and other countries, many domestic and international flights are still landing with COVID cases at Toronto Pearson International Airport.
The latest Health Canada travel data shows that many domestic and international flights with COVID affected rows are landing at the airport.
A row is considered ‘affected’ if it’s three rows (two rows for business class) behind or in front of a row where a passenger tested positive for COVID-19 and was travelling during the period when they may have been infectious.
On the other hand, specific rows may be listed as affected based on the number of people confirmed to have COVID-19.
‘All rows’ may be listed if multiple cases were seated throughout the plane.
‘Unknown’ rows may be listed if the row number for the person confirmed to have COVID-19 can’t be validated or a member of the crew is confirmed to have COVID-19.
Ontario Premier Doug Ford has been slamming the federal government for not doing enough to stop the spread of the virus by tightening border controls.
