BRAMPTON: With Progressive Conservative Party leader Doug Ford confirming nominees for all the ridings of Brampton for the June 7 provincial elections, all the five candidates are Sikhs.

The Sikh community makes up over 20 percent of Brampton’s population.

While Harjit Jaswal (Brampton Center) was nominated last month, the four other candidates are Simmer Sandhu (Brampton East), Amarjot Sandhu (Brampton West), Ripudaman Dhillon (Brampton North) and Prabmeet Sarkaria (Brampton South). Dhillon was the last to be named on Friday.

Later, he tweeted, “What a crowd in Brampton tonight! We have a great group of PC candidates ready to work for you. Thanks for coming out to hear our plan for the people. #onpoli #pcpo #fordnation #brampton.”
