TORONTO: The Consulate General of India (CGI) Toronto has cancelled the November 11-13 consular camp at BLS Brampton for issue of Life Certificates to all pensioners (irrespective of their age) due to administrative reasons.
The schedule for other venues remains unchanged as shown in the chart at the bottom of this report.
The CGI Toronto has already issued more than 3,000 Life Certificates at various locations till now. Life Certificates will be issued till December 31.
Pensioners are required to register on the link (click here) for this purpose, which is also available on
Consulate’s website. They will be informed by email of a particular time to visit designated venues to
avoid unnecessary rush given the COVID-19 situation.
Please note that only those Pensioners who have received emails should visit these venues for obtaining
Life Certificate. They are requested to bring a print out or soft copy (in the mobile) of the email received
by them to show to the Consulate officials/volunteers. Please note that those without email will not be
entertained. Those who have not registered are requested to register on the given link and wait for the
email to be received by them.
For in-person attestation, documents required are – duly filled in updated application form
in duplicate; original passport for verification purpose (which will be returned immediately after
attestation on the spot).
In order to serve the pensioners seeking life certificates in a better and efficient manner, Consulate
seeks greater cooperation from applicants and their relatives to follow the above guidelines and while
visiting these venues for Life Certificate to maintain social distancing and wear face mask at all times as
is prescribed by the local Government. Hence, it is our appeal to the public to ensure that the
documents are complete and Life Certificate application form is signed in advance by the applicant while
visiting the respective centers and the time slot prescribed may also be adhered to.
The Life Certificate requests may also be sent by Post/Courier to the Consulate (365 Bloor St E #700,
Toronto, ON M4W 3L4) along with required documents – duly filled in application form (Click here)- in
duplicate; copy of Canadian/Indian passport; copy of address proof (driving licence or utility bills, etc)
and self-addressed prepaid envelope for return of documents. Applicants are requested to provide local
whatsapp number for video chat for verification purpose.
