The accused hacked into a online chat group and started streaming child pornography

MISSISSAUGA: A 17-year-old Mississauga youth has been arrested in connection with online child pornography.
According to Peel Police, the accused hacked into private chat conversations on a popular online group and started streaming offensive material in May 2020.
When the US Federal Bureau of Investigation was alerted to it, it began investigations and identified that the suspect lived in Mississauga and began to coordinate with the Royal Canadian Mounted Police.
The RCMPâs National Child Exploitation Crime Centre coordinated with Peel Police to identify the suspect.
The 17-year-old was identified and arrested on October 29.
He has been charged with possessing, accessing and sharing child pornography.
Under the Youth Criminal Justice Act, his identity has not been disclosed.
