TORONTO: Police have arrested Sayid Ahmed Abdullahi, 45, of Toronto for ripping off a woman’s hijab and other hate-motivated assaults.
Police responded about 11.20 am on March 29 to calls about three separate incidents in the Morningside Avenue and Sheppard Avenue East area in Toronto.
In one incident, a man who was eating lunch outside a nearby plaza was approached by the accused and kicked.
In another incident, the accused grabbed a woman and ripped her hijab off her head.
In yet another incident, the accused wrestled with a man, knocking a cup out of his hand.
Police located and arrested Sayid Ahmed Abdullahi and charged him with hate-motivated assaults.
The accused made virtual court appearance on Tuesday.
