3 Punjabi youths from Faridkot killed in road collision in Ontario

BRAMPTON: Three Punjabi youths from Faridkot district in Punjab were killed in a road collision near Arthur village in Ontario on Wednesday night.

The victims have been identified as Gurinder Jeet Singh Lidder, 31, from Mono, Karanpreet Singh Gill, 22, from Barrie, and Sunny Khurana, 24, from Brantford.

They were killed when the work van they were travelling in collided with a semi-trailer.

While two of them were declared dead on the scene, the third succumbed to his injuries in hospital.

Arthur village is about 75 km to north from Brampton.

The driver of the semi-trailer was rushed to hospital with serious injuries.

The collision happened on Wellington Road 109 near Sideroad 12 at about 8.30 p.m.

Firefighters struggled to extricate the bodies from the tangled collision spot as four ambulances rushed to the spot.

The cause of the collision is not known.
